Class 2: FERS/CSRS Annuity Calculation, Survivor Benefits, and TSP Income

The Thrift Savings Plan is one of the best retirement benefits the federal employee has. It is designed to supplement the Retirement Annuity. If the employee has a “gap” in their retirement income between their current pay and retirement annuity, than the Thrift Savings Plan will often be used to fill this gap. However, choosing the best investment inside the TSP and the method of distribution can mean the difference of having enough money to last forever, or…running out of money before you or loved ones pass away! This class will explain, in common language, your TSP investment choices. In depth explanation is provided on how to best utilize the investment options and re-balance  tools during the accumulation phase (while employed) and how to maximize returns and minimize risk. In addition the options for using the TSP during the distribution phase (retirement years) will be explained in detail. This is by far one of the most popular classes to take.
